Denver soccer

We left a great crew in Greeley, who looked after us well, this morning into Denver. Most of the day was free and whilst some made it into downtown Denver others relaxed around the hotel. This evening though it was on to an MLS match, soccer, for a chance to compare sports we both share commonly.

Although we heard soccer is not well supported, the game between the Colorado Rapid and Seattle Sounders was well attended and there was a really good atmosphere.

The game itself was entertaining with 2 goals in the first 3 minutes. The quality was perhaps debatable, but the game entertaining enough. In the end, the Sounders won 2-1, making it a clean sweep of loses for the home teams we saw.

The night was a little different in some respects as it was military appreciation night. As many are no doubt aware, the military are highly respected here and treated as almost rock star status in some cases. The night included the swearing in of new recruits, a special military seated section, and military recruitment tables and more.

Military appreciation night Pushups This caps off the sport part of the trip with a free last day and just a group dinner to say our goodbyes.
